Bennington is a short drive to some of the nation’s major cultural attractions including the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, MASS MoCA, Tanglewood, Jacob’s Pillow, Williamstown Theater Festival, among many others. The region also offers some of the best skiing in the East—Killington, Stratton, Mount Snow, to name a few—biking and hiking trails, as well as designer outlet shopping and antiquing, critically reviewed restaurants and eateries, and plenty of farm-fresh produce and local specialties. The New York Times recommends checking out special havens in the area or touring Vermont's natural water slides and chutes if you want to "feel like a kid again."
