New Faces

A new group of 163 students will join us on campus this fall. Together, first-year and transfer students represent 27 states and 15 countries—Armenia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Ecuador, Japan, Malawi, Pakistan, Peru, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Vietnam, and the United States. We look forward to welcoming them warmly to Bennington.

Arriving on Campus/Opening of School

Houses open for returning students at noon on September 1. Students arriving in Bennington before September 1 will not be permitted on campus and must find alternate overnight accommodations. We thank you in advance for planning your arrival accordingly.

Please be sure to check with your parent/sponsor that your account has been paid accordingly. Any student whose account is not current will not be allowed to receive a room key or remain on campus. Shuttle Service

Are you returning to Bennington in the fall by plane, train, or bus into Albany? You may want to consider using the College’s shuttle service. The shuttle cost is $35 and can be paid by cash, check, or with your Bennington Card declining balance. To reserve a spot, complete a reservation form by August 17 (reservation requests received after August 17 will be handled on a space-available basis, and will incur a $10 late fee). Please supply the following information when making your reservation:

  • cellphone number where you can be reached on the day of travel
  • number of bags you will have with you
  • how you want to pay the $35 shuttle fee (cash, check, or Bennington Card declining balance—shuttle fees can not be billed to student accounts)
  • where you want to be picked up (train, airport or bus station)
  • flight/train details (i.e., "Amtrak #88 arrives at 4:05 pm")

Please note: The Office of Student Life is closed on weekends; any reservations requests that are not in by Fridays at 4:00 pm will not be received until the following Monday.
