The Princeton Review released its annual "Best Colleges" guide this week and Bennington once again fared well in a number of notable categories.
Of the 62 "Top 20" lists published in The Best 373 Colleges, Bennington is ranked in 11, including "Best Classroom Experience" (14th); "Class Discussions Encouraged" (5th); "Dorms Like Palaces" (5th); "Best College Theater" (4th); and "LGBT-Friendly" (10th).
On a scale of 99 points, Bennington scored a 96 in the category of "Academics," a 97 for "Interesting Professors" and a 96 for "Professor Accessibility."
Bennington is also one of 218 colleges chosen for The Princeton Review's "Best in the Northeast" website feature, which includes schools from 11 states as far south as Pennsylvania, as well as the District of Columbia.
"We're pleased to recommend Bennington to readers of our book and users of our site as one of the best schools to earn their undergrad degree," says Robert Franek, Princeton Review's senior VP of publishing. "We chose it and the other terrific institutions we name as 'regional best' colleges mainly for their excellent academic programs. We also took into account what students attending the schools reported to us about their campus experiences on our student survey for this project. Our ‘regional best' colleges constitute only 25 percent of the nation's four-year colleges—a select group, indeed."
