USC Keck School of Medicine ’12
“I completed the postbac program at Bennington in 2007 and went on to attend medical school at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles. I am currently going through the stress-inducing process known as ‘The Match,’ where fourth-year medical students apply and interview for residency positions (I am going into the field of obstetrics and gynecology). At some point during most of my residency interviews out here on the West Coast, I am asked ‘Why did you go to Bennington?’ My answer is that Bennington provides a very intimate setting where focused individuals can work closely with faculty and complete the requisite coursework for a medical school application in just one year.
“I felt that the Bennington program did a great job of helping me go from a person with a humanities degree and no real experience in the sciences, to a strong medical school applicant with a solid fund of scientific knowledge and a competitive MCAT score."
A recent update from Amin: “I ended up matching in Ob/Gyn at USC, which is where I go to medical school and was my number one choice. So I am quite happy with how everything worked out!”
