Kelly Anderson, History


Anderson is a historian and educator who has been studying and working in social change movements for the last 20 years. She has worked with feminist organizations and LGBT community groups to document and share their histories, primarily through the craft of oral history. Her intellectual interests include: the history of sexuality, women’s movements of the 20th century, and queer identities and communities. Anderson is a project archivist and oral historian at the Sophia Smith Collection at Smith College, director of Sisters Ink, a feminist organization for women and girls in Western Massachusetts, and faculty at Greenfield Community College. Anderson holds an MA in Women’s History from Sarah Lawrence College and her doctoral work in U.S. History is at the CUNY Graduate Center. She was a visiting faculty member at Bennington in the spring of 2007 and returns for Fall Term 2007.
