Steven Bach, Literature and Film
Bach is a writer and film producer. As head of production for United Artists, he was centrally involved in the making of Raging Bull, Apocalypse Now, Woody Allen's Manhattan, and dozens of other films. His books—Final Cut, Marlene Dietrich: Life and Legend, and Dazzler: The Life and Times of Moss Hart—have all been listed as Notable Books in The New York Times and all remain in print. His most recent book, Leni: The Life and Work of Leni Riefenstahl, was published in 2007. BA, MA, Northwestern University; further studies, University of Paris, the University of Southern California. He has taught at Columbia since 1995 and at Bennington since 1999.
