David Beriau, Center for Creative Teaching
Beriau was the coordinator of a high school alternative program in Atlantic City for six years before coming to Mt. Anthony Union High School in Bennington in 1979. He taught English until 1999 when he was invited to become Dean of Students, a position, along with Associate Principal, he holds to this day. His job calls for him to be a disciplinarian, but he is also an advocate and counselor to the student body. In addition, he is president of the board for Bennington's Center for Restorative Justice, an organization that assists first time juvenile offenders. He also sits on the policy committee for the Southwestern Vermont Supervisory Union and leads student and community groups on international trips every year. He has taught with the Center for Creative Teaching at Bennington since the spring of 2007.
