Ward Jones, Philosophy

Although a native of Texas, Jones was educated at Berkeley and Oxford. Moving even further from his birthplace, he has taught at Rhodes University, in South Africa, since 1999. Throughout his career he has worked in the areas of epistemology and philosophy of mind, mostly on issues related to the nature of believing. Recently, however, his interests have expanded to include philosophy and film, and the responsibilities of philosophers. He is the author of several journal publications, the editor of the journal Philosophical Papers, and the co-editor of a book forthcoming with Oxford University Press entitled Ethics in Film. He will be a visiting faculty member at Bennington for Spring 2007.
