Joseph Kravitz, Atmospheric Science
Formerly a diagnostic radiologist in Berkshire County, MA, Kravits is presently a doctoral student in Atmospheric Science at the University at Albany, SUNY. He has presented his research on coherent tropopause disturbances at numerous regional, national and international conferences such as the First THORPEX International Science Symposium, the 85th Annual American Meteorological Society Meeting, and the 13th Cyclone Workshop. His ongoing PhD research involves the study of the relationship of tropical atmospheric/oceanic waves and intraseasonal variability to the evolution of the El Nino/Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and tropical cyclogenesis. He is the second author on an article on this subject recently submitted to the Journal of Climate.
