Sue Maguire, Center for Creative Teaching
Maguire has been a Vermont educator since 1977. After teaching for 15 years, she was the principal of Molly Stark Elementary School in Bennington where she led the transformation of Molly Stark into a full-service school that integrates educational, health, and social services at the school site. Services include preschool, childcare, after-school programs, mentoring, health services, and an array of family outreach. For the past four years Maguire has been the principal of Mt. Anthony Union High School in Bennington where she has tailored the full-service school concept to fit the needs of adolescents. Maguire has presented at both national and international conferences and provided testimony in Washington, DC, for federal legislation promoting full-service schools. She is the co-author of Inside Full Service Community Schools (Corwin Press, 2002). She has taught with the Center for Creative Teaching at Bennington since the spring of 2007.
