Jennifer Nugent, Dance Guest Artist

Nugent has been a member of David Dorfman Dance since 1998, and received a New York Dance and Performance Award (Bessie) this year for her performing work with the company. She has also worked with Martha Clarke, Shen Wei, Lisa Race, Nina Winthrop, Yin Mei, and Daniel Lepkoff. Nugent is originally from Miami, FL, where she worked with Gerri Houlihan & Dancers, Mary Street Dance Theatre, and shared artistic direction with Barbara Sloan in Duo Da Da Dance Theater. She is frequently a guest artist at Dance New Amsterdam (DNA) in NYC, and has taught at North Carolina School of the Arts, Hollins University, George Washington University, Ohio State, NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Florida Dance Festival, and the American Dance Festival. This past summer Nugent and Paul Matteson performed and taught at the American College Dance Festival, Florida Dance Festival, and Bates Dance Festival. Nugent will be a dance guest artist at Bennington in Spring 2007.
