Aysha Peltz, Ceramics
Peltz is a studio potter living and working in Whitingham, VT. Her pottery explores imagined space, scale, and the poetic properties of the ceramic medium. Peltz has shown her work in numerous venues around the United States and as far away as Taipei, Taiwan, and Jingdezhen, China. In 2005, she was awarded an Emerging Artist Award at the National Council for the Education of the Ceramic Arts and her work was selected for exhibition in the Clay National. Peltz received her BFA and MFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. She has taught at a number of schools and art centers including the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, and the Kansas City Art Institute. She was a visiting faculty member at Bennington in the spring of 2006 and 2007 and returns for the Spring Term of 2008.
