Kate Purdie, Video
A filmmaker and film editor, Purdie has worked at the Children's Television Workshop and for documentary makers Robert Drew and Bill Moyers. For five years she was a staff editor at 60 Minutes and produced a piece for that program on Malcolm X. Since moving to Vermont in 1991, she has worked on a wide variety of projects, including a documentary for PBS about a slain civil rights leader, a series on African Christianity (which she also co-produced), and a documentary on the peace process in Guatemala. She is currently in production on a documentary about Dartmouth’s Hopkins Center for the Arts’ Class Divide Project, and just completed a short for Sterling Publishers on infant and toddler literacy. She has taught at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, the Maine Film & Television Workshops, and Marlboro College. MS, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
