Andrew Spence, Painting
Spence is widely known for his abstract paintings and prints that have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States. His work is represented in major museum collections including the Museum of Modern Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Whitney Museum of American Art. The Edward Thorp Gallery in New York City, which currently represents Spence's paintings, hosted his two most recent solo exhibitions in 2001 and 2002. He received a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship in painting in 1987 and a Guggenheim Fellowship in painting in 1994.
