Terry Teitelbaum, Costume Technician


As a teenager, Teitelbaum designed and constructed clothing for herself and friends, and went on to earn degrees from the Fashion Institute of Technology and Pratt Institute. She taught sewing and design classes in Greenwich Village and designed children's wear on 7th Avenue in New York City. After relocating to upstate New York, Teitelbaum established, and continues to operate, a custom decorating business, of which Orvis Company, Inc. is a regular customer. Teitelbaum has also worked nationally for Laura Ashley's Home Furnishing Department fabricating items for their showrooms, and designed costumes for Hubbard Hall in Cambridge, NY. AAS, Fashion Institute of Technology; BFA, Pratt Institute. In 1996 she received the Native Lace Design Award for children’s wear. At Bennington College she has collaborated with student designers and faculty members on dance and drama productions since 1991.
