John Van Buskirk, Music Instruction
As a recitalist, chamber music player, and recital partner to singers and instrumentalists, Van Buskirk has played from Wellington to Budapest to Prince Edward Island to the Netherland Antilles. He is a noted player of the forte-piano, and has made many recordings of work on that instrument, including Songs of Robert Schumann with Jane Bryden and The Art of the Fortepiano. He has also recorded extensively as a member of the New York Chamber Symphony and is the keyboard player for the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra. He and his wife, violinist Tessa Petersen, perform together as the duo La Belle Alliance. BA, Eastman School of Music; MA, Juilliard. He has taught at Bennington since 2000.
