Jason Shinder, Poetry
Shinder’s poetry books include Among Women, Every Room We Ever Slept In, Arrow Breaking Apart, and a forthcoming collection from Graywolf Press. A recipient of 2006 poetry fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Massachusetts Cultural Council, his work has appeared in The New Yorker, American Poetry Review, Paris Review, and other publications. Shinder’s other books include Howl: Fifty Years Later; Best American Movie Writing, Writers On Therapy, and the forthcoming Hollywood & Poetry: Filmmakers Choose Poems That Inspire Them. A graduate of Skidmore College (BA), University of California at Davis (MA), Naropa Institute, and the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis, Shinder is the founder/director of the YMCA National Writer’s Voice, the Gibson Music Initiative, and Sundance Institute’s Arts Writing Program.
