Nancy Nowacek is an artist, designer, and education who works in the realms of socially-engaged art, visual design, design strategy, and education.

Biography

Nowacek is an artist, designer, and educator with a history in socially-engaged art, visual design, design strategy, and education. Her interests are based in urban design, play, communication, and systems interventions. She has been a visiting faculty member at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program for two years and recently completed a 2-year fellowship at Eyebeam. There, she pursued new interventions into architecture and computer coding, and co-curating events around the body and technology, while attempting to build a floating pedestrian bridge between Brooklyn and Governors Island.

She has shown art and design works in Europe, the US and Canada. She has an MFA in Design and an MFA in Social Practice from California College of Arts. She is also certified in personal training. She lives in Brooklyn. Nowacek was a visiting faculty member at Bennington for Fall 2016.
