“I spent my Field Work Term in Providence, RI with my fiancée who was a graduate student at Brown. I interned at Brown's Cardiovascular Research Center, as well as shadowing a Hematology/Oncology doctor at The Miriam Hospital’s Fain Cancer Center.

“At CVRC, I worked in the Koren Lab where they are interested in the pathogenesis of cardiac arrhythmias, especially as it pertains to sudden cardiac death. My day-to-day consisted of assisting with research surgeries, caring for post-op animals, and attending research conferences.

“One day a week, I shadowed a doctor during his clinic hours at the cancer center. This was also a rewarding experience as I have been able to see how a veteran and industry leader cares for his patients.”
