How to Apply

Continuing Undergraduates
(U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens)

Currently enrolled undergraduate students who are U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens must submit the following as early as possible (see deadlines). All but the tax returns can be completed online and are accessbile through My Financial Aid. (Note: Independent students need not provide parent information.)

Before filing the FAFSA, a student should get a federal PIN at www.pin.ed.gov. The parent of a dependent student will need a separate federal PIN (if parents are separated or divorced, the custodial parent, who completes the FAFSA, should get the PIN). Both a student PIN and a parent PIN are needed to serve as an electronic signature for the FAFSA, and a PIN acts as a password to the student's FAFSA history and loan history.

  • Parents’ 2007 Federal Income Tax Return, signed, including tax schedules and W-2s.
  • Student’s 2007 Federal Income Tax Return, signed, including tax schedules and W-2s, if the student will file.

Students whose natural parents are unmarried, separated, or divorced must also submit:

Other special circumstances:

  • Business or Farm Owners. Students whose parents own a business or farm or who are part of a corporation or partnership should submit a Business/Farm Supplement or the tax return filed by the business (corporation, S-corporation, or partnership).
  • Additional Information. In some situations the Office of Financial Aid may request additional information in order for a financial aid award to be completed.
