On the above dates, Lorca Peress '79 (founder and artistic director of MultiStages) will be directing the world premiere of "The Judas Tree," the 2007 New Works winner. MultiStages's website provides the public with the following description of the production: "Dark secrets are unearthed in this tale of murder, magic, and seduction, based loosely on the crimes of serial killer Dorothea Puente. "The Judas Tree" is a mythical play of operatic proportion with poetic songs, a turbulent garden of dancing corpses, and the 1958 murder trial of Elena Fiero. Arturo Salvia, a retired detective, is sent to investigate a missing girl and enters the erotic and dangerous world of Elena's Madreguerra. This extraordinary world-premiere is a multidisciplinary feast for the senses!"
