Beginning Potter’s Wheel

This class will be an introduction to using the potter’s wheel as a tool for clay form making. While focusing on the development of throwing skills, students will explore different building techniques and will experiment with both functional and nonfunctional formats. Students will be introduced to the whole ceramic process from wet working, to glazing, and finally firing. Slide lectures and discussions will contribute to the projects.
