In the second half of this introductory course, students will continue to expand their knowledge of appropriate communication skills. Students will further develop their cultural awareness by comparing and analyzing conversations between Japanese and English speakers. They will work on engaging in conversations and expressing ideas, learning to correctly interpret the implication of the language and of nonverbal behavior. Notetaking and presentation skills are also taught in this course. Students will continue to develop their knowledge of kanji and the Japanese writing systems.
