Introductory Playwriting Workshop

We will work on the structure of a 10-minute play, based on examples read in class. Exercises and discussion will be part of the rewriting process. Each student will then expand his or her short play into a one-act play (to be handed in at the end of the term). There will be reading assignments, as well. Students will be graded on attendance, participation in workshop (in-class readings, critiques, rewriting, and discussion), assignments, the 10-minute play, and the longer finished play.
