Investigation into Throwing

This course is designed for the committed throwing student who is interested in exploring more complicated pottery forms. Using the potter’s wheel and some hand-building techniques, we will work on sets and parts in the forms of jars, teapots, trays, and more. Students will begin to explore more personal ways of expression through glaze and firing and they will be expected to do a glaze-testing project. Slide lectures, library visits, and critiques will provide historic references and peer perspective on the projects.
