Our survey of the Kafkaesque will begin in the mid-19th century and end in the 21st. Readings will include most or all of the following: Stories, The Trial, The Castle, Letter to His Father, and Letters to Felice (Kafka); The Nightmare of Reason (Pavel); Molloy and Endgame (Beckett); The Woman in the Dunes (Abe); The Life and Times of Michael K. (Coetzee); and The Unconsoled (Ishiguro).
