We will read Kleist, Poe, Melville, Mann, James, Wilde, Tanizaki, Sarraute, Camus, Roth, Duras, Ozick, Penelope Fitzgerald, Munro, and Claire Messud, among others. Students will have creative, as well as critical, writing assignments.
