Did you know that Japan is comprised of more than 6,800 islands? Did you know that although it is about the same size as the state of California, Japan’s population was ranked 9th highest in the world in 2003? Did you know that Tokyo has more foreign language schools than any other city in the world? What do these facts tell you about Japan? In this course, students will study various facts and figures—historical, geographical, and sociological—which will lead to a deeper understanding of the country and its culture.
