OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | Infinite longing, finite lives. “A view of a lake, little action….five tons of love.”

Two decades before the Russian Revolution, Chekhov's The Seagull put the Moscow Art Theatre on the map; today this elusive tragicomedy still enthralls. Generations clash and old and new forms collide in this startling comedy of thwarted dreams. The bold new translation is by Richard Nelson, Richard Pevear, and Larissa Volokhonsky. Directed by Jean Randich and featuring the designs of Atalya Boytner (costume), Jiyoun Chang (set and lights), Teddy O’Mara (music and sound design) and Sue Rees (projections).

There will be three performances at 7:30 pm in Lester Martin Theater and outdoors on May 4, 5 and 6.
