OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | Henry M Walker, Ph.D. is a Visiting Professor of Computer Science at Williams College for Fall 2017, but is also the Samuel R. and Marie-Louise Rosenthal Professor of Natural Science and Mathematics Professor of Computer Science at Grinnell College in Iowa.

At Grinnell College students need to be placed in one of four Computer Science classes, one of five Mathematics courses and one of four statistics courses. The data is a combination of standardized tests and high school transcript information (courses taken with average grade.). This talk discusses four approaches: (1) assignment manually by faculty, (2) placement test, (3) Traditional AI expert system, (4) Machine learning via Neural Network.
