Sarah Clader

Associate Director

Sarah maintains and expands a progressive model of experiential liberal arts learning and supports the College’s leadership in this area. She oversees integrated academic advising and outreach strategies aimed at helping students to navigate the annual Field Work Term requirement. Additionally, Sarah oversees all employer relationship management, including establishing new and recurring Field Work Term opportunities, and assisting employers in recruiting Bennington College students for undergraduate internships and jobs after graduation. Sarah oversees a database of thousands of employer contacts and hundreds of job and internship postings annually, and oversees staff to assist students in navigating these resources.

Sarah holds a Masters in Higher Education from the University of Michigan and a BA in Political Science from Rutgers University. She has ten years of experience in the nonprofit and higher education fields. Sarah spent five years managing operations for nonprofits, including directing citizen outreach for environmental advocacy organizations, and organizing a college-based student internship program with NJPIRG focused on social change leadership. She also organized workshops on service learning and community engagement as a graduate intern at the University of Michigan. She has been with the Office of Career Development and Field Work Term at Bennington College since 2016.
