Things to Do in the Area
Bennington, Vermont, is located on the New York and Massachusetts borders, in the southwest corner of the state. Situated at the foot of the Green Mountains, Bennington is within an hour of some of the best skiing in the East—Killington, Stratton, Mount Snow, to name a few. Cultural attractions include the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute, MASS MoCA, Tanglewood, Jacob’s Pillow, among many others. The region also offers designer outlet shopping and antiquing, critically reviewed restaurants and eateries, and plenty of farm-fresh produce and local specialties.
A few suggestions from The New York Times, which has run several articles on the area:
- "HAVENS: Bennington, VT."
- "36 Hours in North Bennington."
- "Water Parks Gone Wild in Vermont." An article on Vermont's natural water slides and whitewater chutes.
Some suggested itineraries for those who like day trips (and have plenty of energy!)
