Christopher Miller
The Novel
Miller's second novel, The Carboard Universe, will be published by Harper Collins in January 2009. His first novel, Simon Silber: Works for Solo Piano (aka Sudden Noises from Inanimate Objects) has been translated into French, Dutch, Japanese, and (forthcoming) Russian; the film rights have been optioned by Jason Schwartzman. The French edition, Variations en fou majeur, won the prestigious Prix Pelléas for best book on music, the first time a novel has been so honored. Miller's essays have appeared in Salmagundi, Lit, the New England Review, and elsewhere. He is a regular writer for the Montreal arts magazine, Maisonneuve. BA, Columbia College. He has taught at Bennington since 2002.
