Bennington Recognized by Princeton Review

The Princeton Review released its ranking for the top 381 colleges in America, and Bennington scored big in several categories. Bennington was also selected to appear in Princeton's 2017 Best Northeastern Colleges List, which includes the schools that it considers "academically outstanding and well worth consideration in your college search," as well as in their "Green Schools" list.

The College's academics were again highlighted in "Best Classroom Experiences," a metric that is "based on students' answers to several survey questions, including how they rate their professors, their classroom and lab facilities, the amount of in-class time devoted to discussion and the percent of classes they attend." Bennington's faculty were endorsed with a top placement on the "Professors Get High Marks" list. 

Drama at Bennington, which Princeton has consistently recognized for its outsized impact, was once again counted among the "Best College Theaters." 

The campus landscape and housing received attention as the "Most Beautiful Campus" and the "Best College Dorms." Bennington students' activism merited a nod on the "Most Politically Active Students" list, and Princeton also noted Bennington's inclusive and welcoming environment in the "LGBTQ Friendly" list. 

Princeton's rankings are based on a survey of 136,000 students at 380 top colleges, in which students are asked to assess their schools in a number of categories and report on their student experiences. Bennington has regularly found a top place in the Princeton Review rankings for its unique approach to teaching and learning and for the spaces in which its students live and work.

The announcement of by the Princeton Review follows close on the heels of the Forbes magazine article, "Turnaround U," that featured Bennington College as a hot college of the future.
