The world premiere of echo/archive, a collaboration faculty members Elena Demyanenko, choreographer, and Erika Mijlin, filmmaker, will take place at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Experimental Media and Performing Arts Center (EMPAC) on Friday, March 2, and 8:00 pm.
Developed over the past year, the EMPAC-commissioned piece brings dance, film, and light together in a three-part live performance featuring dance faculty member Dana Reitz, Eva Karczag MFA '04, and Jodi Melnick, a recent guest artist-in-residence. The performance integrates live dance with a multi-screen staging of live and pre-recorded video to represent the layers of memory and heritage that exist in each human body.
