Mann '04 Wins Bing Jingle Contest
Jonathan Mann's lo-fi musical exploits landed him in the news again last month when he was named winner of Microsoft's first-ever "Bing Jingle Contest."
Mann was awarded $500 for the winning jingle, which Microsoft said was "both catchy and funny" while promoting its newly launched search engine, Bing.
Contestants wrote, produced, and uploaded their jingles to the Bing YouTube channel, where the winner was determined based on ratings and number of views.
Mann's jingle, "Bing Goes the Internet," was also the 202nd consecutive song in his song-a-day project, which has drawn national media attention and can be followed on his website.
