Modernism by Mamorsky '60
An exhibition of abstract paintings by Liz Mamorsky '60 is currently on view at Roll Up Gallery in San Francisco through September 17.
Says Mamorsky, “Since graduation from Bennington College, I have exhibited my unique reclaimed materials sculpture, studio furniture, and visionary paintings and drawings nationally and internationally."
“When our home burned down in 2000 my Op Art paintings, stored in the basement, were rescued and sent to storage for three years during the rebuild. Most survived, but some needed restoration which I lovingly undertook over the period of a year. It was so soothing working on the cellular shapes that I didn’t want to stop. Hence, the evolution of my Modernist series which I also think of as Iconic Abstraction.”
