A Poem Guide by Guthrie
A poem guide by literature faculty member Camille Guthrie of Robert Browning's dramatic monologue, "My Last Duchess," was recently published by the Poetry Foundation.
Guthrie, who has taught the poem in her "Ekphrastic Poetry” course at Bennington, says: “It's a marvelous poem as the poet reveals how violent men try to disguise their crimes in rhetoric, but fail and reveal themselves at every turn—even in the punctuation marks.”
