At Bennington, Renowned Political Consultants Disclose the Business Behind Democracy

Glenn Cowan, co-founder and CEO of Democracy International, and international campaign consultant Greg Minjack will discuss their experiences as international and national political strategists—which, for both, include advising U.S. presidential campaigns. The discussion, which is free and open to the public, takes place on Tuesday, November 14, 2006, at 7:00 pm in Bennington College’s Visual and Performing Arts center, Room D-208.

Glenn Cowan has served as a senior staff member and voter contact consultant in President Carter’s (1980) and Walter Mondale’s (1984) presidential campaigns. Cowan’s groundbreaking sample-based parallel vote tabulation election monitoring method has enabled election officials to both detect and deter electoral fraud. In nearly 30 years as a political consultant, he has worked on issue advocacy, constituency, governance, organizational development, public opinion research, and vote count verification and has assisted scores of domestic and international government agencies.

Greg Minjack, a partner at Washington-based Capitol Links LLC, has been a democratic strategic manager for almost three decades and is best known for his extensive work on election strategy and tactical planning. He, too, served as a consultant to President Carter’s 1980 re-election campaign. Minjack also has been an advisor to several civic groups and political parties in Eastern Europe and currently serves as Special Representative to the Government of the Rubublika Srpska.
