Information for Graduates

Congratulations, Class of 2008! Please make a note of the following important dates and details regarding your upcoming Commencement Weekend, May 30-31, 2008.

Important Dates

• Tuesday, April 15 — Cap and Gown Order Form and Commencement Questionnaire due to Ashley Shadrin in the Office of External Relations (Barn 105). Intent to Graduate Form due to Dean's Office (Barn 123G).
• Friday, May 16 — Deadline to register for Commencement Weekend. Register online or print a downloadable registration form and return to Ashley Shadrin in the Office of External Relations (Barn 105).
• Wednesday, May 21 — Senior Dinner at 6:00 pm, Petrie Terrace, VAPA. Hosted by Alumni Relations and Student Life.
• Wednesday, May 28 — Rehearsal for Conferring of Degrees at 6:00 pm, Barn 100. All graduating students planning to walk in the commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 31, are requested to attend. Caps and gowns (for those who order them) will be distributed at this time.
• Friday, May 30 — Commencement Dinner (reception at the Student Center, 5:00 pm; dinner, 6:00 pm; commencement addresses, 7:00pm) under the tent on Commons Lawn.
• Saturday, May 31 — Conferring of Degrees at 10:00 am, Pioneers’ Quadrangle (inclement weather location is under the tent on Commons Lawn). All graduating students are asked report to Barn 100 at 9:30 am. A reception will follow the ceremony on Commons Lawn. New Alumni and Family Picnic will be held at 5:00 pm at the End of the World. All graduating students and their families are welcome.

Other Important Information

Please begin planning for commencement weekend as soon as possible. Encourage family and friends to make hotel reservations early as area hotels fill up quickly. Please refer friends and family to the commencement section of our website for details about Commencement Weekend.
