Van Shuttle Service
Hours Monday: 1:00-8:00 pm, Evening Shuttle from Albany
*On Saturdays and Sundays the Van will go to Williamstown if there are students who want to use the Williams College Library. On Saturdays the Van leaves here at 10:30 am to take students to the library. On Sundays, the Van leaves here at 12:30 pm to take students to the library. On both days, the Van will leave here at 4:30 pm to go to the library and pick up the students (5:00 pm) who were dropped off earlier in the day. Each round trip takes approximately 1 hour, and while the Van is traveling to and from Williamstown there will be no local runs. To borrow books from Williams students must present a Reciprocal Borrowing Form, signed by a Crossett Library staff member, and a Bennington ID to the lending institution. Transportation to Albany
To sign up, come to the Office of Student Life. To be guaranteed a spot on the shuttle, passengers need to sign up by Wednesday at 4:00 pm and provide the arrival and/or departure time of their bus or train, or their flight number. Payment ($25) is accepted by cash or check, or may be charged to a student bill. Arrival times are subject to change due to unforeseen delays (weather, traffic, etc.), and passengers should be sure to factor such possibilities into their travel plans. Bennington College and Alternative Limo are not responsible for missed trains, buses, or planes due to shuttle delays.
For a schedule of shuttles returning to campus at the beginning of the Spring '08 term, click here. During the academic term, Thursday and Friday weekly runs will depart from Bennington College at 3:45 pm sharp and arrive at these locations and times:
Albany train station – 5:10 pm Albany bus station – 5:20 pm Albany Airport – 6:00 pm
Sunday and Monday weekly runs from Albany to Bennington will arrive back at the College at approximately 10:00 pm. Pick-ups will occur as follows (meet the driver where noted):
Albany train station – 8:30 pm (top of the escalator in the lobby) Albany bus station – 8:40 pm (the lobby) Albany Airport – 9:15 pm (the bottom of the escalator, before baggage claim)
The Alternative Limo driver will be holding a sign that says “Bennington College” and the names of the passengers that they have on record to be picked up. Alternative Limo will wait for 15 minutes past the designated pick-up time before leaving the pick-up location.
Additional fees resulting from schedule changes will be the responsibility of the passenger. If Alternative Limousine is unavailable to make the new pick-up, or the passenger wishes to use another service, we recommend contacting Capitaland Taxi at (518) 426-1405 (from the airport) or Yellow Cab at (518) 433-0300 (from the bus or train stations).
