Dean of Students
Natalie Basil stepped into the Dean of Students position in January 2019 after serving as the Assistant Dean of Students since August 2016. As Dean of Students, Natalie provides vision and leadership for the Office of Student Life which includes Residential Life and Community Standards, Student Engagement, Student Health Promotions and Campus Recreation, Psychological Services, Health Services and Campus Safety.
A strong advocate for small, liberal arts education, Natalie weaves collaboration, transparency and student-centered learning opportunities throughout her and her team’s work.
Prior to Bennington, Natalie led the Residential Experience team for both the undergraduate and summer pre-college programs at Brown University. She also held leadership positions supporting the student experience at Smith College and Gettysburg College.
Natalie holds a BA in Communication/Gender Studies/Leadership from Marietta College (Ohio), a MA in Student Affairs in Higher Education (SAHE) from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) and a Social Justice Mediation Certificate from UMass-Amherst.
