Abigail Gampel '85
Abigail Gampel is a writer and actor who has created numerous one-woman shows, including Underground Goddess, Images Through Silk, I Slept with a Beautiful Woman this Afternoon, Wings of Glass, Goddess, and Through the Window, which have been staged at The Public Theatre, The Ohio Theatre, HERE Arts Center, The Nuyorican Poets Cafe, The Westbank, Dixon Place, The Ensemble Studio Theatre, Nada, and other theatres. She was commissioned by the International Trauma Studies Center to create and direct theatre pieces about the experiences of Liberian refugees and 9/11 survivors, drawn from direct testimony. She sits on the Boards of The Ensemble Studio Theatre and the HERE Arts Center. In addition to performing, she is a painter, and is excited to have the first public exhibition of her works next month. She is delighted to be reengaged with Bennington.
