Steven supports students and alumni through one-on-one advising sessions, career programming, and event coordination. Steven works closely with students to evaluate their skills, interests, and goals, and to help them identify resources that will allow them to succeed in the job-search process. Steven develops career education curricula for first year advising groups and assists with career networking events.
Steven holds a Master of Science in Education and Counseling and a BA in Psychology. Prior to Bennington, Steven served as Assistant Director of the Career Development and Internship Program at Virginia Wesleyan University, where he oversaw the development of an integrated academic and career student support center on campus, part of the University’s quality enhancement plan. Steven partnered with a variety of student groups to advance inclusive campus programing, including the Women’s Resource Center and the Black Student Union. He also served international students as the campus DSO. Previously, while earning his Masters degree, Steven worked for three years as a Career Counselor and Internship Coordinator at Old Dominion University.
