Li-Chen Chin photoDr. Li-Chen Chin is Vice President and Dean of Student Life at Bennington College, overseeing students’ co-curricular experiences. Previously, Li-Chen was Assistant Vice President for Intercultural Programs at Duke University, Interim Associate Dean for Student Affairs at Duke Kunshan University, and Associate Dean for International Programs at Bryn Mawr College.

While working at the University of Pennsylvania, Li-Chen was actively engaged with Asian American Studies, and worked with faculty and student leaders to establish Asian American and Diaspora Studies at Duke University. She has taught at Duke University, Bryn Mawr College, and the University of Oregon.

Having over two decades of experience in higher education administration, Li-Chen has been involved with several national professional organizations and served on the editorial board of the Journal of Global Education and Research.

A music major in college, Li-Chen discovered the values of active listening, creative thinking, discipline, persistence, and teamwork. Her love of learning led Li-Chen to pursue graduate studies in the U.S., and she became passionate about the issues of diversity and inclusion and representation in school curriculums. Her work has enabled Li-Chen to give a voice to minoritized groups and to create more equitable experiences for all.
