Non-Degree Seeking Students at Bennington
How to apply, application guidelines, deadlines, and fees.
Application Deadlines
Fall term – July 15
Spring term – January 15
There is no application fee.
Find a Class
Specific class availability is limited to registration after the full-time students have registered for their classes.
Studio art classes are unavailable due to high demand.
VT Dual Enrollment Program
Please work with your high school guidance counselor to learn more about the VT Dual Enrollment program.
High School Students
High achieving juniors and seniors may enroll in a spring or fall term class at Bennington for $100 or by applying for a VT Dual Enrollment voucher (more info) if they have earned a 3.5 GPA or higher. The required materials include:
- Course Enrollment Application
- Official high school transcript
- Letter of recommendation from high school guidance counselor
- SAT or ACT test results if available
Alumni
Returning alumni may enroll in a spring or fall term class at Bennington for credit or just to explore an interesting class. The required materials include:
- Course Enrollment Application
- College transcript(s)
- One letter of recommendation
Fees:
- For credit: $2,827/per credit
- Non-credit (audit): $200/per credit
Adult Students
Adults may enroll in a spring or fall term class at Bennington for credit or just to explore an interesting class. The required materials include:
- Course Enrollment Application
- Most recently attended school transcript(s)
- One letter of recommendation
Fees:
- For credit: $2,827.00/per credit
- Non-credit (audit): $200/credit + $800 auditing fee
Applications should be submitted to the Admissions office by July 15 for fall enrollment and by January 15 for spring enrollment via mail (1 College Dr, Bennington, VT, 05201), by scanning and emailing to admissions@bennington.edu, or by faxing it to 802-440-4320. Applications will be reviewed by the Office of Admissions upon receipt of all required materials. Decisions will be notified by email. If accepted, the Dean's Office will contact you directly about the course availability. Please work directly with the Dean's Office, not individual faculty members.
Enrollment and class registration is done after notification of acceptance from the Office of Admissions. Studio art courses are never an option due to the overwhelming need of our current students and limited space. All other classes are available after all our students have registered and only if there is space available in the class.
