24th Annual Bennington Quiltfest
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | More than 100 new quilts and challenge quilts will be on display at the 24th Annual Bennington Quiltfest on the weekend of Sept. 16-17 at Mount Anthony Union Middle School, 747 East Road in Bennington, Vermont. The annual event is presented by the Quiet Valley Quilters Guild on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM, and Sunday from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
This year’s featured quilter and lecturer is award winning quilter, Michelle Renee Hiatt, who designs her own line of patterns and enjoys teaching others how to simplify their piecing while improving the quality of their quilt making. On both days she will give a free lecture at 1:00 PM.
During the show guild members will demonstrate various quilting techniques. Vendors offer a wide selection of fabrics, patterns and notions for shoppers. In addition the Guild’s Consignment Boutique carries quality crafts made by guild members and gently used quilting books and magazines.
Tickets for this year’s raffle quilt, “Autumn Splendor,” can be purchased both days and the drawing takes place on Sunday at 3:00 PM. People’s Choice Awards in two categories are presented to the winners at the same time.
Quiltfest Café is open both days for breakfast and lunch selections. Admission is $7 (children 12 and under free). The show is handicap accessible and there is plenty of free parking.
