Ivy Mix ‘08, who was voted American Bartender of the Year at the international Tales of the Cocktail festival, was written up in The Bridge for the success of her Latin-inspired Brooklyn bar, Leyenda, which she opened in 2015.
Mix, who was recognized as “one of the country’s top bartenders” by Food Republic, “is not only a local celebrity,” writes The Bridge, "but a leader in her industry as the co-founder of Speed Rack, a national speed-bartending competition that helps shine a light on female mixologists and raises funds for charity." Currently in its seventh season, the event takes place in cities all over the country, raising roughly $100,000 a year for breast cancer research, education, and prevention.
