Creating Community

We support the creation of community in several ways:

Keeping our Grounds Open:

The grounds are open from dawn until dusk, May 1-November 1, and we encourage visitors to use our Adirondack chairs for a picnic, or walk our trails. Our neighbor, The Fund for North Bennington, hosts a two mile trail that connects the Robert Frost Stone House to Lake Paran and runs through land which previously belonged to the Frost farm and orchard.

Supporting Local Makers and Artists:

You’ll find work from local Vermont makers and Bennington alumni in our retail shop. Local musicians and food vendors frequent our events.

Hosting School Groups:

We love to share Robert Frost’s work and the beautiful Vermont landscape that inspired it. We seek to give not just an awareness of Frost, but a wider appreciation of poetry in general.

Sharing Bennington College’s Resources:

The Robert Frost Stone House Museum is an extension of the Bennington College campus, and allows us to share the vibrant scholarship and an exceptional history in the arts with the wider community.  Frost Stone House Members are invited to Poetry at Bennington readings, a series where some of the best working contemporary poets share their work.
