Alexa Alemanni
Alexa Alemanni is a SAG award winning actor on Mad Men and writer on TNT’s The Librarians. Currently, she has feature screenplays set up with Sony, 21 Laps, Netflix, Black Label & Olivebridge.
Biography
Alemanni started her career as an actor, working on such hit shows such as Masters of Sex, Lucifer, The West Wing and more. She’s most known for playing Allison on the Emmy winning AMC Drama Mad Men for four seasons, for which she won a SAG Award. As a TV writer she staffed on TNT’s hit shows: Leverage & The Librarians, for which she is credited with multiple episodes, and sold the pilot Mansfield Park to Tornante Media. She has worked as an ESE in two mini-rooms and is currently in development of a new pilot with Semi-Formal Productions (Michael Showalter).
On the feature side, she most recently sold a feature to Netflix with 21 Laps producing, Kay Cannon directing and starring Jennifer Garner, as well as another feature to Sony/TriStar with Olivebridge Pictures (Will Gluck) & Balcony 9. She’s also had multiple option/purchase agreements with UCP, Level Forward and Black Label Media, among others.
Alemanni is a member of WGA West, SAG-AFTRA, Women in Film, and founder and former President of The Collaborative, a non-profit for actors. She is a graduate of Vassar College with a degree in theater and history.
Alemanni is an Adjunct Professor of Screenwriting at USC and runs her own writing studio: Bad Pitch Writers Lab, with over 150 ongoing students. She joins Bennington as faculty in the MFA in Screenwriting Low-Residency Program for the 2026-2027 academic year.
